TITLE:
DESCRIPTION: As the responsible planning authority's arguments for the permit refusal was based on issues including heritage factors, neighborhood character and aesthetic factors, the permit applicant countered by pointing out that the new development opposite to the permit applicant dwelling contained contemporary design features that were not considered negative by the planning authority at the time it had approved this particular developers's planning permit. The permit applicant had asserted that the proposed screening device would add interest and diversity to the streetscape, as were the metal sheets and wires on the building pictured here were intended to do. This is another instance where the permit applicant claimed that the planning authority had been inconsistent in this refusal when weighed against previous and recent planning decisions. The permit applicant cited numerous examples of the alleged inconsistency
